Creative reading- character sketch

My character that I created is a 39 year old male named Andrew Bouguar.

Hi, my name is Kelsey and I'm 14. I have a younger sister, Sam, who is 12. We live with our single mom in our small but comfy side-by-side. Recently, about three weeks ago, my mom met this guy when she went out with her friends to celebrate a birthday.

"You can call me Andy," he had said to Samantha and I when we first met. He seemed like a nice guy, but I can't help but have this odd feeling about him. He looked normal, wearing plain jeans and teeshirt. And I could see why my mom found him attractive. With his short brown hair and deep green eyes, he wasn't all that bad looking, putting myself in my mom's shoes.

Even though my mom and him have been dating for three weeks now, and I have met him several times, I still concerter him somewhat a stranger. Samantha is convinced that he's a spy, and that idea I think is very possible.

Andy says that he is an engineer. Whenever my mom asks how work is, he often says that he can't say because it is top secret. My mom was telling me once that he designs rockets for the government and things like that. He has to go through a bunch of lie tests and has to swear on his life that he won't tell anyone- that's how classified and intense his work is. Very suspicious if you ask me.

Andy was also telling me once that he owns his own business too. It's also something complicated, "making and selling engines," he tried to simply explain to me and Sam.

My mom admires him because he is so dedicated to his jobs and he works hard at them. I call it being a work-a-holic, and him having nothing better to do with his lonely, pathetic life.

He also travels to the states often to pick up parcels. "Things for his company" apparently. Whatever that means, could be bomb parts. Most of the things he orders from online too. Andy has a dual citizenship with Canada and the United States that make traveling that much easier for him.

My mom and him think that it would be a fun experience if we traveled to the states together for the may long weekend. I would prefer to stay at home and do nothing, thank you very much. He suggested this idea over a home cooked dinner one evening, and I almost choked on my chicken.

That's all for now!
